Why Sheet Masks Should be Your Beauty Staple

Joshua Zeichner, director of cosmetic and clinical research at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, says that “Face masks are designed to deliver high concentrations of active ingredients to your skin,” making the impact significantly higher than if the product was applied in a non-mask form.

WHAT NUTRIENTS DO SHEET MASKS CONTAIN?

Sheet masks are usually enriched with different kinds of Vitamins including Vitamin C which helps brighten up your skin tone, Hyaluronic acid which helps maintain your skin to be hydrated, and tea tree oil and salicylic acid which helps in reducing acne and scars.

Sheet masks are usually created to serve a particular skin concern, and the ingredients in it also depend on what function the sheet mask is created for – varying between aloe vera for sunburn, vitamin c for brightening , tea tree for acne etc. The variations are unlimited including pearl, snail extract, and seaweed as well.

HOW TO USE THEM?

All you have to do is wear them and wait for them to dry on your skin as your skin absorbs all the nutrition and serums in it. No scrubbing or cleansing is needed at all, as in case of mud masks.

Let it dry for 10-15 mins and peel  it off. Given the concentration of the formulation, you should feel almost immediate results.

Pro tip: You don’t necessarily have to rinse your face with water after it. Let all the goodness soak in, and stay on, for better results.
