MYTH # 1: Greasy food will cause acne

How many times have you heard this? if you eat greasy food like french fries or samosas you will break out? this is truly a myth as there isnt much evidence that shows that food can cause breakouts. You should certainly avoid eating too much of greasy food because it is generally very unhealthy, not because it will cause acne. Dermatologists usually warn us about diary products causing acne and not greasy food.

MYTH # 2: Dry under eyes need heaviest creams

This isnt true, most heavy creams contain mineral oil, petrolatum which arent absorbed that easily into the skin. Since they arent easily absorbed they sit on top of the skin and causes puffiness in the morning. It is better to choose an eye cream that is hydrating rather than a heavy one. Whether you have dry skin or oily or sensitive, you must not skip washing your face twice a day. When you are sleeping your skin collects alot of oil, dust and debris that needs to be washed off in the mornings. Just use a face wash that is suitable for your skin type and always follow it up with a moisturiser, even if you have oily skin!

MYTH # 5: It’s okay if your skin breaks out post facial

Facials remove the dead skin and unclogs pores, it gives your complexion a glow and brightens it up. Breakouts should decrease after a facial and not occurs. If your skin is breaking out, it can be due to the pressure put onto your skin or the types of products used during facial. If your skin acts up after facial, use vitamin E oil or tea tree oil all over your face.
