Changing your looks can take alot of effort, alot of planning goes into it as well, not to mention the burden that is placed on your wallet! but when the results come in, you find out that it definitely is worth all the hassle. When you are trying to go for a different vibe, changing hair colors seems like the most obvious choice, as it brings about a change in your look instantly. Changing your hair colour can be scary, but it doesnt have to be. Follow these steps to dye your hair from the comfort of your home!

1) Wash your hair a day before

It is never a good idea, to dye your hair when they are freshly washed. Unwashed hair have some natural oils that protect them from the harmful side effects of the harsh chemicals.

2) Buy the correct shade

Buying the correct shade is very important, remember to buy one shade lighter than your desired shade. The result always comes out darker than the image on the box.

3) Stock up

Its the worst feeling when you are in the middles of the dyeing process and the stock finishes, always buy extra boxes to make sure that doesnt happen. Keep the length and volume of your hair in consideration while buying the boxes.

4) Do a test

It will save you alot of effort to do a strand test first to see how the colour comes out. take a strand from behind the ear and apply the colour to it, wrap it up in foil and leave it on for 30 minutes, then take it off and see if the results make you happy.

5) Divide your hair into sections

To make the process easier, divide your hair into four sections. First, down the middle, then from ear to ear across the crown. Start dyeing the front sections first.

6) Rinse your hair

Once its time to remove the dye, rinse it our with warm water. Try not to wash your hair immediately after dyeing, when you do wash, use a sulphate free shampoo to protect the colour and make it last longer.
