Beauty Hooked Reveals Hated Vs. Loved Beauty Products

The thing is, Beauty Hooked was created to bring you the best in beauty- nothing less- and guide you on what is great and what is NOT worth it so you don’t waste your time and hard earned money on products that would leave you disappointed!

Part of that means, that we are testing hundreds of beauty products monthly so we can make the best, most honest, recommendations to you. Its one hell of a task trust us!  While the struggle is real we need to have some solid points to make sure the products are worthy of our coveted ‘Beauty Hooked Approved’ label. But what if…. a product totally fails us?? Well, unlike others, WE ARE NOT AFRAID TO SAY IT just so we can save you guys from investing even a penny on products that are worthless.

Here is our list of most HATED for the month. Read on to find out what you need to stay away from.

 HATED:

KKW Beauty Contour Sticks

What it is:

Contour and highlight with this KKW Crème Contour stick. Comes in ultra creamy formula that makes application much easier and blends perfectly.

What we didn’t like: The texture of the contour sticks required multiple applications as it blended out too much. Although we set it really well, by the end of the day skin looked blotchy and the product had totally vanished. The product also caused the skin to become oily after few hours and  didnt sit well on skin. Overall, not worth it.

LOVED ALTERNATIVE:
  • Maybelline Face Studio Contour – Rs. 1,599

What we liked about it: It’s a duo product with contouring and highlighting features. It blends easily into the skin without much struggle or hassle. Suits every skin type from dry to combination. Gives you the ultimate natural look instead of being cakey.

HATED:
  •  Tartelette Toasted Palette

What It Is: This palette is all about the warm tones & cozy shades. Comes with 12 shades which are perfect for every skin tone.

What we didn’t like: This palette had a wide range of warm shades which unfortunately are not as blendable as they should be based  on the products hype.  Its glitter shades keep coming off the eyelid which makes them most difficult to apply, every time the brush is dipped into any eye shadow shade it’s a nightmare because the fallout is ridiculous. Overall, a BIG NO NO!

LOVED ALTERNATIVE:
  • Makeup Revolution Jewel Collection Eyeshadow Palette Gilded – Rs. 2,450

To Shop Click HERE

What we liked about it: This palette has every shade you need starting from mattes to shimmery ones. First row is filled with shimmer shades which are highly pigmented and have no fallout at all. These shades are long lasting and don’t require any touch ups. The 14 matte shades are super blend-able and richly pigmented and create an incredible foil like finished look.

 HATED:
  • Fenty Beauty Glittery Galaxy Palette

What It Is: Galaxy eye shadow palette of 14 star dusted shades that has a wide range of sheer, glittering topcoats to smokey, shimmer-drenched hues all perfect for your different makeup looks.

What we didn’t like about it: So the thing is that the packaging is beyond gorgeous, iridescent, light refracting, even by the weight of the product you can tell it’s high end BUT this palette only works if you wet your brush properly, as it has drier, powder-based glitter eye shadow formulation which  doesnt work very well when dry. While some shades are more workable with a dampened brush and others need to be layered over a creamy or tacky base, we felt these eye shadows have quite a bit of fallout when applied, and if you are deciding on getting this palette, you better have a good fixing spray with you, so you can fix the eye shadow more easily for smoother application. MAJOR FAIL!

LOVED ALTERNATIVE:
  • Makeup Revolution Foil Frenzy Creation Eyeshadow Palette – Rs. 2,100

To Shop Click HERE

What we liked about it: Well if you are looking for highly pigmented eye shadows, honey this palette is for you. Revolution needs to make more palettes of this quality. These foils are like butter and they are super pigmented. The colours go on the lid so easy, they practically apply themselves. The pictures do not do the justice to this palette.

HATED:
  • Revlon’s All-In-One mascara

What It is: This mascara helps give your lashes the ultimate volume, length, definition, lift, conditioning, and color.

What we didn’t like about it: We are always up for drugstore mascaras, what’s better than having a good mascara within such low price. BUT the things with this one is that the mascaras bristle-nubs are so short, they cause the product to goop up on the brush, and over-coat the brush head. You can barely see the bristles and the empty space in the middle of the brush head is not visible at all. This mascara is also very WET. Way too wet infact, and gets smudged on the inner corners of eyes during application. Overall, a BIG MISS!

LOVED ALTERNATIVE:
  • Elf 3-In-1 Mascara – Rs. 795

To Shop Click HERE

What we  liked about it: We have been a big fan for this mascara lately, this mascara comes with a brush wand which everyone has been obsessing about, as it helps applying the mascara more easily in the inner corner of eyes. Even if you have cried your eyes out all day, this mascara will stay in place and no retouching will be needed. So who’s up for buying this incredible mascara? We know we are!!
