FLAT IRON

Flatirons or straighteners are multi-purpose hair styling tools. they are designed to smooth and straighten the hair, to make curls and waves. They are used by placing 1″ to 2″ sections of hair between the iron’s heated plates and press firmly, then run the iron down the hair to the ends

Pro Tip

Never use highest temperature directly on a bunch of hair. it will not only cause damage but also only upper and lower of the bunch will be straighten, Th inside of the bunch will remain frizzy, giving overall a messy look. Always take small sections to ensure each hair has been ironed.

HAIR STRAIGHTENER BRUSH

As the name says, it straightens the hair as it glides on the hair. No need for a glove either because of the cool tips. First, plug in the bush and then turn it on until it reaches the temperature that you want. Take a hair section and apply the brush as close to the root and brush gently and slowly down towards the end.

Pro Tip

When using your brush, make sure that each section of hair goes deeply into the brush so that all your strands are evenly straightened; brush slowly so that each section receives just enough heat to make the hair straight. Brushing slowly will also reduce the need for you to brush each section multiple times, and will also reduce the amount of time that your hair is exposed to heat

HAIR DRYER

A hairdryer (also called a blow dryer) is a device which blows cool or hot air. Hair dryers are usually used to speed up drying wet hair.

Pro Tips

A lot of women start with the sopping wet hair. Your hair should be 60-to-65 percent dry before you even start to blow dry because it’s less damaging to your hair if you pre-dry.
Towel dry, then blow dry using only your hands for a bit, then use a brush—starting at the roots

STEPS TO USING HAIR STYLING TOOLS

  • Shampoo and condition your hair preferable with frizz control and smoothing ingredients. Dry with a T-shirt to avoid any frizziness.
  • Let the hair air dry for some time
  • Apply heat protectant serum to avoid damage
  • Blow dry your hair using a hair dryer starting from roots to ends.
  • Now use your styling tools whether straightener, tong, wand or rollers to style in your own way
  • Secure your hair with hair setting spray

HEAT PROTECTANT

Heat protectants are any product in form of serum or sprays that coat the hair with ingredients that provide a protection from high heated tools. Instead, provide nutrients to the hair. The most common ingredients used are Cyclomethicone and Dimethicone. They are used :

  • to reduce the porosity of hair thus protecting them from humidity after styling
  • to stop the loss of moisture from hair
  • to make hair frizz free and detangled
