How to Do Eye Makeup According to Your Eye Shape

Ever wondered why watching a zillion eye makeup tutorials never make a difference to your eye makeup? The answer- Determine your eye shape first. Eye makeup varies from one eye shape to another, so what works for someone else might not work for you because maybe you have a different eye shape.

Almond Eyes

This eye shape is considered to have the most ideal proportions and any eye look can work on this eye shape. Be it a smoky eye makeup, classic eye makeup or an accentuate wing liner; this eye shape can carry all!

Close Set Eyes

These eyes are considered to be closer together than normal. The best way is to use darker colors on the outer corner s of the eyes to make them look wider. Do not extend the inner corner. A winged liner is best for this eye shape.

Down Turned Eyes

This eye shape looks down turned from the outer corners. Therefore, techniques that lift the eye are best for this eye shape. Use a liner pencil and make a cross on the outer corner only. Then blend it in the outer 2/3 of the eyes. This way the eye will look lifted. Avoid liner on the outer third of the lower lash line.

Deep Set Eyes

Deep set eyes are deep in the socket , with a mobile lid. It is best to apply a light shade on the lid and a darker shade just above the socket line. Then blend it in upward and outward direction.

Protruding Eyes

This eye shape has a bulge from the socket to the lash and can be difficult to work with. Use medium to dark matte colors for this eye shape. To divert attention from the lower lash line bulge, Apply a medium brown matte.

Hooded Eyes

In this eye shape, a fold of skin hangs over the socket line. This can be naturally or due to aging. Use matte colors in medium and dark to keep the eye makeup simple. Alternatively, for shimmery eye makeup looks, you can fake a crease line using a dark matte shade, and apply the shimmery shade below the fake crease line.
