It could either be a vitamin deficiency or you haven’t tried any home remedies for chapped lips. So to improve your condition, our Beauty Experts will help you get rid of flaky, dry and chapped lips with these simple DIY’s.
1- EXFOLIATE WITH HONEY
Honey has anti-bacterial healing properties so create a mixture of honey, cocoa powder and brown sugar in a small bowl. Rub it into your lips with your finger but be gentle with super dry lips. And there’s no reason to rinse it off, just keep the honey on your lips, or eat it – we wont judge you!
2- HOMEMADE LIP BALM
This miracle lip balm uses a whole host of moisturizers such as shea butter, honey, almond oil and olive oil, and white chocolate. You can also add beeswax create a layer of protection on your lips to seal in moisture.
- 1 tbsp shea butter
- 1 tbsp each: honey, almond oil and olive oil
- 1 teaspoon grated beeswax
- 5 white chocolate chips (optional)
- 3-4 drops vanilla extract
- Lip balm container
Combine the oils in a small bowl and add the extract (or other essential oil of your choice). Melt the beeswax in a microwave safe bowl until it’s melted. Add the chocolate chips and heat again until both are fully melted. Combine the beeswax and chocolate mixture with the oils and stir to combine. Quickly transfer to a clean container and wait for it to solidify (stick it in the freezer to speed this up).
3- COCONUT OIL + HONEY
Combine coconut oil and honey and slather a layer of it on your lips every night before going to sleep.
4- VITAMIN E
Vitamin E capsules are readily available so take one capsule and puncture it with a pin and directly apply to those super painful cracks in the corner of your mouth everynight
