HAIR TIPS & TRICKS
TIP #1: The Shampoo you use Shouldn’t be Taken Lightly
The shampoo you use is very important for the health of your hair. It determines the long-term health of your hair because the purpose of shampoo is to cleanse your hair strands from dirt, oil etc. and unclog your scalp and cuticle. ‘Head and Shoulders Smooth & Silky’ is recommended by Fizah and Hera, and is Beauty Hooked approved. It leaves your hair soft, smooth, silky and manageable.

TIP #2: Hair Wash Water Temperature is Important
We understand that its cold and there is no compromise on a nice hot shower. You may not know this but washing your hair with hot water can be very damaging to your hair… yes… we feel your pain and you read that correctly. Washing your hair with hot water causes breakage and isn’t good for you hair at all, washing your hair with cold water will leave it shinier, softer and healthier looking. It’ll be worth it.
Also, DON’T sleep with wet hair! We know it is an okay thing to do, especially when you’re extremely tired. But this way your hair is more prone to breakage because wet hair is like a loose spring and can easily break when stretched.
TIP #3: Do not use Styling Tools Daily
Do not use styling tools on your hair daily, it can be severely damaging to your hair in the long term. There are several ways to style your hair without the use of heat, stay hooked for Fizza & Hera’s next feature on how to style hair without heat tools.
TIP #4: Oiling is Great for Hair
Oiling your hair is always beneficial! Oil your hair overnight, leave it in and wash it the next day. Olive oil, coconut oil, mustard oil, argan oil there are several types of oils to choose from. To find out the right type of oil for you click here.
Hera & Fizah recommend coconut oil and the Beauty Hooked Approved one is as below:
Go Natural Coconut Oil

TIP #5: Use a Good Hair Serum
A hair serum is a silicone-based product that coats the surface of your hair and makes it shine, unlike hair oil that penetrates into the hair cuticle and causes changes to its structure. There are hundreds of serums available in teh market, but that doesn’t mean that all of them work wonders. Fizah & Hera recommend OGX’s ‘Argan Oil of Morocco’ which is also Beauty Hooked Approved. It makes your hair soft and shiny and leaves it detangled.

TIP #6: Before you Sleep tie Your Hair Right
The way you tie your hair before going to sleep is very important because if you use a bad quality elastic band to tie your hair, you could cause friction, breakage, and potentially damage to the hair cuticle layer. Hera recommends two possible ways of tying your hair before going to bed at night
- A quick side braid.
- A top bun.
TIP #7: Sleep on a Silk Pillow Case or tie a Silk Scarf Around Your Head
It also very important which pillowcase you rest your head on every night and it is recommend that you use a Silk one! If you’re sleeping on an old pillowcase then its time to upgrade to a nicer option. Sleeping on a silk pillowcase allows your hair to slide across the pillow without fraying and frizzing up. Another option would be to wrap your hair in a silk scarf before going to sleep to prevent it from rubbing and allowing your hair to stick to one place.
