Is being outwardly beautiful important for a broadcast journalist based in Pakistan?

For a broadcast journalist, to be beautiful is primitive. A pretty face is the first thing a channel necessitates, the voice quality and accent come second.

On a scale of 1-10, how much would you rate yourself in terms of beauty?

I am really high on my self-esteem nowadays so that would be an 8/10.

What is your absolute beauty nightmare?

Whenever I cut my hair too short it was always a beauty disaster for me.

In your opinion, who is the most beautiful person ?

A person who has a beautiful heart. A person who lives keeping her moral values intact. A person who keeps trying to do good, for others and for themselves.

What is your beauty regimen on a daily basis?

As we do a lot of makeup, it’s necessary to cleanse out all those blocked pores before bed. Applying moderate amount of moisturizer helps in strengthening the skin barrier. Now to protect hair from heat damage that comes from our styling routine, I get my hair trimmed regularly and apply hair oil twice a week.

Do you have any fitness goals to share with your followers?

TBH I am too lazy as a person to follow diet plans and do regular gym. I just try eating healthy and moderately. It’s kinda works well for me.

What is the most important product in your makeup vanity?

My one dear red lipstick.

Who do you idealize and aspire to be, in terms of beauty?

Not being haughty, but I prefer idealizing women with brains and strength. For me the personality of a woman is her real beauty.

What, in your opinion, is more important and why? Beauty or Power?

Definitely power. Beauty can only control the ignorant.

What is your beauty mantra?

I read it somewhere and it stayed with me ever since. ‘Never underestimate the power of a good outfit on a bad day’.

If you had the chance to replace one feature of yours with some other actress’s, what would it be and who would you replace it with?

I will exchange my skin with Mahirah Khan’s. Isn’t it flawless?

What’s your beauty guilty pleasure?

My bb cream.

Do you have any beauty related DIYS that you swear by?

Milk powder with honey, especially in winters. I love it.

How much have you spent on makeup in your life?

I have never been so fond of makeup so I never spent too much on it. Then I became an anchor and now I don’t have to spend on it. Giggles.

Have you ever considered getting a surgical beauty procedure? If yes, then where?

Nope! I sometimes think of getting my lips done tho.

If you don’t have a tattoo and would like to have one – what would the tattoo be of and where would you like to have it?

I love tattoos. IF I ever get it, it will be a small yin and yang on my wrist.

How do you keep your beauty game so strong in this fast paced industry?

Stay positive, it reflects on the outside.

Why do you think heavy makeup and styled hair is given preference over natural makeup in journalism?

Unfortunately it is. I hope the trend changes sometime soon.

Is it true that for a channel to become successful, it must have good looking, dolled-up news anchors?

Well, from my own experience when I wasn’t in the industry myself, I always tuned in to the channels with the most pretty anchors. It was always a delight to the eyes. I know it’s not right but this is how it works.

Is there any beauty advice that you would like to give to all your followers?

Beauty is grace and confidence. Everyone’s lovely in their very much own, unique way.  As far as the looks are concerned, it’s going to fade away. Your personality stays forever. Work harder on that.
