Hair extensions are the new in thing! If you can not make it, you can definitely fake it! Not only do hair extensions help you achieve the desired look you want; it also saves your hair from over styling.
However, which hair extensions to buy? And how to use them? Lets discuss everything in detail.
Clip in Hair Extensions
These come in a strand of contoured pieces, some long, and some can be cut shorter, with clips that are sewn into the strand. The clips are sewn-into the hair before receiving them, making it ready to use, and easy to simply “clip” the pieces to your natural hair, all on your own!
The clip is a snap open/snap shut method. This method is the least permanent style of extensions because you can quickly remove them and put them back on whenever you want. Clip-ins usually take 5-15 minutes to put on. (Practice makes perfect!)
Clip-in hair extensions are also the least damaging because they don’t involve any chemicals, heat, or other methods – they simply clip onto your hair so there is zero damage! This is one of the many reasons why it’s one of the most popular hair extension methods. These last from 6 months to one year or even longer, depending upon how you take care of them.
These come in 2 types. Real human hair and synthetic(artificial) hair.
Real human hair can be styled , washed , conditioned like normal hair. These are costly but last longer. Whereas synthetic hair extensions ares composed of fine plastic fibers, manufactured to look like human hair. Synthetic hair extensions cannot be styled at a high heat or they loose their texture. They are quite cheaper and might look a but unnatural due to their overly glossy or shiny texture as compared to real human hair. They last for a limited time period.
How to Fix Clip in Hair Extensions
Step 1: Start by lifting your hair from the crown with the help of a tail comb.
Step 2: Tease the roots of your hair with the help of a tail comb. And use a hairspray to fix the hair you have teased. This forms a basis for your hair extensions to rest upon.
Step 3: Clip the hair extensions of the areas you have sprayed. To further fix your extensions, use a bobby pin to secure it.
Step 4: Repeat the process starting from Step 2 on lower layers of the hair.
Most hair extensions come in a set of 5. They are merged with your natural hair. This is how you should clip them up. Starting from the longest extension at the crown, then to smaller ones beneath it and finally the two normal sized ones. This ensures maximum length and looks the most natural.
Synthetic hair also comes in the form of memory hair which means that it has already been put into a specific style so you do not have to style it. Just put it on and you are good to go. These are reasonably priced, yet time saving.
