FACE SKIN CARE
“First off get an Appointment with Your Dermatologist”- Amina Z
If you have active acne, scarred skin, dryness, pigmentation or open pores, it is best to consult your Dermatologist to get to the root cause of the problem. Your dermatologist will recommend the treatments you need that will suit your skin best, along with give you a timeline for these treatments to achieve that clear-looking skin before you get on that stage.
Monthly Skin Treatments
Whether you have six months or less to your wedding day, you need to compile a list of the things you need to do to get that flawless skin.
According to Amina Z, “if you have acne-prone skin, whiteheads and blackheads, Dermabrasion or Crystal Peeling are the two necessary clinical procedures that you need to get over the period of 6 months before your wedding for the unwanted blemishes and scars to gradually lighten. Moreover, if you have pigmented skin, Amina Z. Salon offers whitening facials and Hydra for the brides-to-be with dehydrated skin to retain their skins moisture. All of which are sure to transform you before your big day.”
Weekly Skin Treatments
Cleansing, Scrubbing and face masks are weekly treatments that every bride needs to religiously do. Scrubbing helps shred dead skin cells and blackheads, giving way for the cells to generate new skin. However, this should be done in a conscious process and not in a haphazard manner.
A good way to cleanse and scrub is to first cleanse and after cleansing, take a dry towel and soak it in warm water and cover your face with it for 5 minutes to open clogged pores on your skin. Next, remove the towel and exfoliate with a good scrub. You can also use home made scrubs, depending on what product suit your skin type. Next, wipe your face off and splash it with cold water to close the pores. Next, apply a good face mask which can either be a commercial product or an organic mask such as Ubtan or a Mud Mask. Leave it on for 15 minutes. Clean your face and apply a toner followed by a moisturizer. This routine will keep your skin neat and clean and prevent your pores from clogging.
Daily Skin Treatments
Keeping a well maintained skin care routine is important to get clear skin till your big day. A good daily CTM (cleanser, toner and moisturizer) routine with the right products is the basic to get any kind of skin we all desire. So if you are a bride-to-be, you will need to religiously follow a skin routine everyday and night, which includes, a serum (oil or water-based, depending on your skin type), a night cream which is specifically targeted to treat skin problems (wrinkles, fine lines, dark circles etc) and an effective sunscreen with an SPF 50.
According to Amina Z, ” experimenting before your big day is a big NO-NO! But if you want to try something new, research about it, consult a Dermatologist and try any face treatment at least 3 months before your wedding just in case any process or product doesn’t suit you, you can take counter-active measures.”
So a lot of things can cause mood swings before your big day. Imbalanced hormones, stress, maybe, you couldn’t book your favorite photographer to cover your wedding, or your dress was ruined because it cost you an arm and a leg to get all that ”kaam” done, or maybe your phuppo, saas or bestie made a snide remark causing you to go into bridezella mode. Well, our expert, Amina Z. has some de-stressing tips for the brides-to-be.
Monthly Body Treatments
Amina Z. recommends a full body massage twice a month using reflexology to relax those stressed muscles. Reflexology presses specific pressure points on the body that give you relief from stress and various body aches, loosening the tight muscles.
Also grooming should be on point because you dont know when those guests will show up unannounced, so, Amina Z recommends body waxing should be done every 3 weeks starting from 6 months before the wedding so that the the texture of your hair and their growth can be reduced over time.
Weekly Body Treatments
Every brides dreams to have that perfectly smooth, soft and supple skin. Brides-to-be who have dark patches on their skin, joints, knees or elbows, should get a full body skin whitening polish to reduce those dark patches and a full body scrubbing to remove the dead skin cells. The frequency of these treatments depends on the severity of the problem and may range between once a week to once a month. Dry brushing at home twice a week also frees your skin of dead skin cells.
Daily Body Treatments
Your body is your temple, so keep it clean by maintaining personal hygiene by daily moisturizing and hydrating your body.
HAND & FEET TREATMENTS
The golden time to flaunt your wedding ring is between your engagement and the wedding day. So you need to have beautiful hands.
Monthly Hand & Feet Treatments
To make the hands and feet beautiful and flawless with no marks and dark knuckles, it is advisable to go for a manicure and pedicure with deep conditioning ingredients. These will not only make your hands and feet look clean, but also make them appear and feel soft.
Weekly Hand & Feet Treatments
Scrub dead skin cells on both your hands and feet twice a week using a whitening hand and feet moisturizer to lighten any dark pigmented marks. Apply almond oil on your hands and feet and cover them with gloves and socks for an hour. This trick will help to retain moisture, letting the oil seep deeper into your skin.
Daily Hand & Feet Treatments
Daily Hygiene is also very important for your hands and feet. Therefore, a mild cleanser and moisturizer and a hand cream should become a part of your pre-bridal routine for great hands and feet.
