When someone says baking, we think of delicious cookies and cakes and what not! BUT in the world of makeup, the meaning is totally different! Read on if you want to know what it is and how you can bake your face!

What is baking?

Baking is primarily done to give your makeup a long lasting, creaseless, poreless, flawless finish. Isn’t that what our ultimate goal is? Many people arent a huge fan of baking, they feel that it is super time consuming and nobody has that kind of time especially in the mornings when there is literally a race against time. But baking just takes an extra 20 seconds! while you bake your makeup, you can fill your brows, do your eyes and so much more!

How to bake

Step 1: The first step is to apply your foundation, for the baking powder to work, you need some base that it can hold on to.

Step 2:  Once your base is settled, take a brush or a blender and dip it in the powder, apply a thick layer on the areas of the face you want brightened up! Usually people bake under the eyes, on the t zone, chin and underneath the cheek to contour it.

Step 3: Once you apply it, let the powder sit for atleast 5 minutes, after that take a fluffy brush and dust it away. Pro tip: the longer you keep the powder on, the longer your makeup will last.

What you need

The tools that you require are simple ones that you already use for your makeup. A beauty sponge is required or you can use a dense brush, like a foundation brush that will properly hold onto the powder. You would also need a fluffy brush to dust it all away. You have to be careful with the setting powder you choose. it should be finely milled and should be able to give you a luminous finish.
