A Very Candid Interview With Fiza Shoaib On Beauty

“People might tune into a channel to watch a beautiful anchor, but for them to stay tuned – it needs a lot more!”

We all know that Fiza Shoaib is not a new name in the media industry- we have all been witnesses to her quirky personality, intelligence and style on her popular tv show. Besides being a well reputed anchor, she also has adept makeup skills and could give any MUA a run for their money!

Fiza started her career as a young girl in university; back when she was doing her bachelors. She gave a music audition and realized her passion for this field. And from that point to now- there has been no stopping her! She has come far off in her journey of entertainment and journalism. Let’s see what this diva has to say about beauty.

How important is it for a broadcast journalist in Pakistan to be beautiful?

Quite much. But character and intellect are equally important I believe.

What do you do to keep your daily beauty game strong?

I have a very strict skin regime. Daily moisturizers, serums, face oils, scrubs etc. I believe cleaning your skin is as important as making it up! I love doing makeup, but then your skin requires special care too.

How would you beauty rate yourself on a scale of 1 to 10?

Let the ones reading, decide this!

Who do you think is the most beautiful person on the planet?

Everyone. I think everyone is beautiful in their own way. Beauty isn’t just restricted to appearance; it’s the reflection of one’s inner self.

What does your daily beauty routine look like?

I’m a hardcore skin care routine follower! I should be doing something about hair care too but i really don’t do much! Makeup is love, I use all my favorite brands and I have lots and lots of it because I do my makeup for the shows myself! I love doing makeup since i was a kid.

What is your fitness routine?

I’m always on the run! I hardly eat out. Home food and occasional yoga are the key.

What is the one beauty product that you cannot imagine your life without?

So many!! But a moisturizer I think. I can’t do without it!

Who do you take your beauty inspiration from?

When I see pimples on my face, ughhh! They inspire me! Literally.

If you have to choose between beauty and power, what would it be and why?

I believe in being comfortable in my own skin because that would make me look beautiful! And I believe in inner strength rather than “power” power!

What is the best beauty advice that someone has ever given you?

Positivity and lotssss of water!!

If you had the chance to replace one feature of yours with some other actress? What would it be and who would you replace it with?

I’m happy with my own! Alhamdulillah

What’s your beauty guilty pleasure?

Glitter eye shadows! And that glittery nail art! Wish I can pull them off effortlessly like a lot of people do!

Do you have any homemade beauty recipe you swear by?

I think those homemade sugar scrubs are miraculous!

What is the most you have ever spent on makeup?

Don’t ask! All I want to spend on is Sephora!!

Have you ever opted for any surgical beauty procedure? If yes, then what are those? If not, then what would you like to get done?

No I haven’t, but if I ever opt for something, I might want to get rid of my dark circles that are genetic and I can do almost nothing about them! Sigh!

If you don’t have a tattoo and would like to have one – what would the tattoo be of and where would you like to have it?

A BIG NO to tattoos!

Have you ever had a beauty disaster? What was that?

Yea a lot of times makeup has gone wrong. Which I’ve learnt from. Not every new trend is made for you. So you have to really figure out what suits you then go for it. Plus I got my hair colored purple once, yea PURPLE! Not EVER again! (giggles)

Why is heavy makeup and well styled hair inevitable in journalism?

I choose for myself, nothing is inevitable really. But I think as you do makeup and set your hair before heading to any event etc. to look presentable, we need it too. Plus it’s also a requirement of the cameras and lights that are used in shoots!

Do you agree if the anchor is not beautiful, people would not tune in that channel? Not even for news? If you do, do you think it’s right?

Yes, people might tune into a channel to watch a beautiful anchor, but for them to stay tuned needs a lot more. The knowledge that she’s providing, how she communicates, how she dresses, how comfortable she is, her sense of humor and a lot more.
